Dr. Gretchen Allen
Dr. Gretchen Allen, and her husband Dr. Kurt Lutgens, obtained their veterinary degrees from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. They joined Dr. Joe Cali in the area in 1982. Dr Allen and her husband have raised 3 sons on their farm in Greenwich. They have numerous show cows, chickens, swans, multiple cats and dogs that add to their family. Her interests include animal behavior, volunteering veterinary time in the Caribbean, gardening, and scuba diving.
Dr. Margaret Horn
Dr. Margaret Horn joined Battenkill Veterinary in 1990. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts and her veterinary degree from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Margaret lives on a farm in the area with her husband, 2 sons, 3 dogs, and 2 cats.
Dr. Scott Lutgens
Dr. Scott Lutgens joined our practice in June 2014. He is from Greenwich, NY and is the youngest son of Drs. Kurt Lutgens and Gretchen Allen. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate degree and received his veterinary degree from St. George's University in June 2014.
Dr. Jessica Taylor
Dr. Jessica Taylor joined the Battenkill Veterinary team in June 2017. She is originally from Queens, NY. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota. She has two cats, Dunkin and Bandito, and a Plott Hound mix named Ripley.
